The Digital Inflection Point in Mexico: from the Internet to IXPs and ISPs
As Mexico's digital economy expands, the performance of its networks increasingly depends not only on fiber deployment, but also on how efficiently traffic is exchanged. IXPs and ISPs are at the center of this ecosystem: they reduce latency, lower costs, and enable the growth of cloud, AI, and content delivery across the country.
With more than 7 active IXPs and more than 500 networks operating, the interconnection landscape in Mexico is evolving, although it still has significant room to mature compared to global benchmarks.
This session discusses how IXPs and ISPs are shaping connectivity performance in Mexico and what needs to happen next to support hyperscale, regional expansion, and digital inclusion.
