Joana Pascual

Mexico Head of Infrastructure & Energy , IFC

Joana Pascual is a seasoned investment professional with over a decade of experience in development finance, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships. She currently leads the Infrastructure and Energy Mexico team at International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Prior to rejoining IFC, Joana served as Principal Investment Officer at IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, where she led the origination, structuring, and execution of financing operations across transportation, energy, water and sanitation, and social infrastructure.

Her work spanned diverse markets in LATAM, including Argentina, Belize, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay. In addition to her investment work, she advised governments on public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks and energy sector reform.

Earlier in her career, Joana held positions at IFC, working on investment projects across Latin America, Asia, and Africa—particularly in French- and Portuguese-speaking countries.

She holds master’s degrees in economics and finance from Columbia University (USA) and Sciences Po Paris (France), as well as a bachelor’s degree in economics and management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
